Artist Statement
I borrow a quote from Alma Thomas - as this basically explains my work and the purpose behind it.

"Through color [and form --> my addition], I have sought to concentrate on beauty and happiness, rather than man's inhumanity to man."

I no longer want to focus on the terrible things that I experience, or the chaos happening in this world. I want to focus on a reason to continue living. I seek value in the ordinary - in things that we often take for granted. As a result, I have become enamored with nature and its ability to survive and exist through the toughest times. I watch nature documentaries to experience worlds that I may never get the chance to visit. I remember parts of images from watching nature documentaries and from taking walks outside. I then transform these impressions into forms and colors. The result is the colorful abstractions presented before you.
