Hello! I am Honghao Chen. I am interested in transforming the space and give it new purpose to extend the life cycle of a space. I am especially interested in adaptive reuse in architecture. It is a great strategy that saves energy and offers financial benefits, which would provide opportunity for people to live in a better environment.

I love observing. I am always inspired by objects that I see in my daily life, from which I would figure out strategies that may be applicable in my own projects. I found a lot of ideas from my experience. I do my work systematically. I would start working with plans of steps, dividing big goals into small steps. When it comes to developing projects, I would study how human body interacts with space, considering how color, material and lighting would influence human senses and behaviors because I believe sensory experience is the key to designing a space, details such as texture, transparency, flow of wind would all influence our experience in the space.

In the future, I would like to work with colleagues that are diversified in different fields so that I could learn things that I am not familiar with to make the design more complete.
