The name of this collection is érase, a word that implies an ending in English and a beginning in Spanish.

It is based on my newfound understanding of time as nonlinear. An experience of time reliant on memory, the physical objects left behind and the context I put them in.
I was drawn to the ephemerality of my experience of time during lockdown. The future felt unstable so I turned to the past, researching my family's generational memories through archives both digital and tactile for words and objects that remained preserved. During that period I was better able to understand my own past beginning with my lifetime connection and love for libraries and the written word as repositories for preserved time. Through this introspection into my past I became aware of memory loss I have sustained from depressive episodes.
This lost time caused a crisis of self and a crisis of time, what life have I lived if some of that is missing from my memory?
