The current work focuses on home remedies and wellness, creating a narrative of when one is sick and in times
of seeking comfort in this domestic setting. The discussion of placement in the familiar while dealing with the exterior rejection of one’s “homeland” in their land of refuge exists in my work. There is a creation of nonsense out of sense within the discussion to the rituals shared. Nonsense, as a way of accepting ones possible first introduction to these foreign practices. Failure in translation takes a toll in the work with the choice of objects and content. There exists an understanding of displacement of these objects and the subject. This establishes a place to discuss the creation of sharing these experiences with the viewer.
