I'm from the suburbs of Chicago. I spent my first two years of my BFA program at the upstate campus, Munson Williams Proctor's Institute before coming to Pratt's Brooklyn campus. Through metalworking and often found objects I explore the the psychological dynamics within the domestic setting as well as the use of shared trauma in constructing relationships.
Artist Statement
The upheaval one experiences can be isolating and turn one against another. Proximity at the same time intensifies and redirects this energy. Moments at a short distance away find the language of one’s experience echoed in the other’s. Connections form, support systems emerge despite circumstances challenging and contorting individuals. Stressful conditions force warping, creating malleable moments. Community can subvert such impact negotiating balance, weaving relationships that are stronger than imaginable.
