Tamia Bailey is a Filmmaker and Producer from Baltimore, MD. The question Tamia is always trying to answer in her films is “What makes you Black and how does it affect the situations and environments you encounter everyday?” As a result, she focuses her work on how race and other aspects of identity manifest in society and the uncanniness that sits in those intersections.
Artist Statement
W. Mulberry will always be special to me because this film is a love letter to my hometown of Baltimore and the street that I grew up on my entire life. Despite the negative reputation Baltimore gets as being a dangerous city there is a loving community that isn't recognized. There are vibrant and fun personalities that will always build Baltimore up to be more than what outsiders perceive the city to be!
