For the most part, my work has been focused around capturing intimate or meaningful moments with interesting lighting or dramatic surreal scenes all intended to evoke its own emotion. My paintings are often meticulous observational renderings of life and imagination, in order to capture emotions through colors in surreal environments that work heavily in dissociation, identity and chaos. My work includes thought provoking and mentally invasive imagery that may appear to be simply organized chaos, but in reality is embedded with personal, familial and cultural ideology. I have recently been playing around with the concept of reflections and how they can emulate personal ideologies and relationships with self, community and family. In most of these pieces, I focus a lot of energy on emulating deep emotion or mood in the landscapes created behind the focus of the painting, as I have found that this allows for a deep connection to the piece in terms of feeling as though you can place yourself in the environment with the subjects.
