Artist Statement
I believe myths connect human experience. A myth is a story, an ideal, a social phenomenon involving supernatural beings, intoxicating enough to build a society. I aim for my objects to tell new stories. Through sculpture and installation, I propose questions such as how do we define strange or otherness? What makes an object enigmatic? What is the value of fiction? With a dedication to materiality, I am searching for tactility and transformation. The result are speculative objects that speaks to ritual, fetish, and power.
