Our project reflects on scenarios where leisure becomes work, through the design of a production studio, Playhouse, located in One Times Square. Playhouse produces commercials, live broadcasts, and other performance videography; allowing for a wide range of productions from low to high budget, in different types of media. The building lures the public to participate in the making of productions, deceiving them to engage in work that is conceived as leisure. This critique is developed by placing work on display, turning it into a spectacle. As such, it serves as a critique of a contemporary corporate work-model that integrates work and play under covert means.
